Add a New Part for Lightning

Goal

Learn the best practice when adding a physical Part to Inventory by starting from the Parts Master. Creating a Part from Parts Master will help carry over and populate the appropriate fields and reduce errors in the Part information transfer.

 

Step One - Navigate to Parts Master

  1. Click App Launcher.
  2. Enter Parts Master in the Search bar.

Step Two - Select a Part

 1. Select a Part you would like to add from the list.

  1. Click the Parts dropdown button from the related list
  2. Click New

Step Three - Add a Part

Most fields will auto-populate with information from the related Parts Master. You can manually set values to the Bin to notate the Bin Location for Inventory, Source List, Product Tax Code, and Stocking Group. Some organizations may not use these additional functions. They are not required to create a Part but can be utilized.

Once you have filled in the information that is relevant to your team, click Create New to complete the process.
