Transfer Parts to a New Location


Transfer parts between locations. Using parts transfers help keep all locations in stock. Committing a transfer creates a purchase order for the receiving location.

Attention Users,
Salesforce has two different desktop user interfaces: Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic. This article is designed for Lightning Experience.


Step One: Navigate to Parts Transfer

  1. Click the App Launcher icon.

  1. Enter Parts Transfers in the quick find area.
  2. Click Parts Transfers.

Step Two: Create a Parts Transfer

  1. Click New.

  1. Set From Location.
  2. Set To Location.
  3. Click New Transfer Request.

Enter data in the the transfer details to fill out the transfer with descriptive information. The Transfer Details contain (a) Shipping Info and (b) Parts to be transferred.

Shipping Info

Shipping information is not required to complete a parts transfer but includes:

Field Description
(a) Invoice No. The number identified with the invoice.
(b) Shipping Notes Extra shipping information.
(c) Shipping Tracking No. The number that tracks shipping.
(d) Shipping Charges Cost of shipping.
(e) From Location The location shipping the parts.
(f) Ship Via What is the delivery method.
(g) Required Date Date parts need to be transferred.

Parts to be Transferred

At least one part is required to complete a parts transfer.

  1. Enter <Part Name>.
  2. Click the Part Name.

  1. Enter <Quantity>.
  2. Click Add.

  1. When done adding Parts click Commit Transfer.

Note: Click the Reverse Transfer button to reverse the committed transfer.


PO #

Once the transfer has been committed a Purchase Order will be created. The Location To field will be the PO Company. While the Location From field will be set as the Vendor.

  1. Click the PO# to be taken to the Purchase Order.
