When Sales Dispositions are applied, a single status update to one record will create a matching status on the related Sales up and/or Deal. There are four default values when setting Sales Dispositions.
The advantages of Sales Dispositions include reduced key strokes, improved record accuracy, improved real-time reporting and valuable insight for sales managers.
Step One - Map the Pick List Values
Look up the pick list values for Status on the Sales Up and Deal. These values will be used to map the correlation between the Sales Up, the Deal, and assign the correct Sales Disposition.
Step Two - Custom Settings
Under Setup, use the quick find and start typing custom settings. Click on Custom Settings.
Click Manage next to Sales Dispositions. After you click Manage and you're in the sales dispositions, click New.
Step Three - Edit Sales Dispositions
This will open the Edit Sales Disposition information window. Here you will name the disposition and set the Deal Status and the Sales Up status that will correlate with the saved disposition.
Click Save & New to repeat this process and continue to add sales dispositions for the Sales Up and Deal statuses.
In this example, when a Sales Up status is changed to bought elsewhere, it will change the related Deal status to Lost.
In this example, if a Deal status is set to delivered, the Sales Up status will update to Won.
In this example, If the Deal status is declined, it will change the Sales Up status to drop.
Correlating all statuses on the Sales Up and the Deal with a sales disposition will update the related record accordingly.
